After a strong finish to the 2019 season, Chris Clemons has agreed to a 3-year sponsorship extension with Dynamic Discs to keep him with the company through 2022.

Clemons raised his rating nine points over the season to a career-high 1026 and had top five finishes at the Green Mountain Championship, United States Disc Golf Championship, and Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship.

  3. Ben Askren Retires From UFC So Maybe Now We’ll Get To See Him Challenge Disc Golfers Full-Time

Ben Askren has promoted disc golf throughout his mixed martial arts fighting career, and after announcing his retirement from the sport on Monday, the 2011 United States Amateur Disc Golf Championship runner-up may have more time to hit the course.

Our immediate thought went to the potential match-up of Askren and Brodie Smith taking on Paul McBeth and Simon Lizotte in doubles, but Askren’s bad hip may delay that showdown.

  6. Video: Lizotte, McBeth Join Ultimate Player Brodie Smith For Trick Shot Battle

Simon Lizotte Paul McBeth Brodie Smith Trick Shot

There’s not really a “battle” per se, as no one was keeping score, but Simon Lizotte and Paul McBeth joined ultimate player and known trick shot aficionado Brodie Smith for a video a year in the making.

The trio teased the Jomez Pro-filmed video around this time in 2018 — McBeth was spotted in the Discraft shirt before his move from Innova was official — and we’ve been waiting for the final cut to make it through Smith’s editing queue.

Smith did also promise he’d enter his first disc golf tournament if the video hit 10,000 likes, so you know what to do.

  7. Highlight: Juliana Korver Ace At Phoenix Ladies Open

    Juliana Korver Ace

Juliana Korver won the Masters division at the 14th Annual Phoenix Ladies Open by 13 strokes, and she added an exclamation on the W with the picture-perfect ace.

Korver was able to run the pin with no hesitation as the basket sat perched on a hillside. The disc maybe deviated 6 inches left or right during its flight on the way to the chains.

  13. Third Crush: Discmania Inks Finnish Champ Oskari Vikström To Extension

Having won the 2019 Finnish national championship and earning an invite to his first United States Disc Golf Championship, teen Finn Oskari Vikström had a big season and has been rewarded with a two-year contract extension with sponsor Discmania through 2021.

“Oskari’s game at this point is strikingly similar to that of Simon and Eagle in their teens,” said Jussi Meresmaa, CEO of Discmania. “It’s still hard to believe that Oskari is only 16 years old. I see him making big moves on the international scene in the upcoming year or two.”

” I’ll be working with Infinite Discs for the upcoming 2020 season while throwing an open bag!” Gibson said. “I will still be working closely with Innova Discs on many projects throughout the year as well! This opens the door for me to have signature discs through more than one manufacturer.”

Gibson said there will be more sponsor announcements next week.
