  2. Trick Shot: Paul Ulibarri Throws Between Two Sets Of Goal Posts Into Basketball Hoop

Paul Ulibarri Disc Golf Trick Shot

Why not include three sports in one trick shot?

Paul Ulibarri pulled off an impressive feat by throwing a disc through two sets of football goal posts a field length away from each other, and into a basketball hoop set up on the back side of the second set of goal posts.

Wow. That’s it. That’s the post.

  3. UDisc Adds Course Directory To Desktop Site

    Screenshot: UDisc

UDisc today announced that it has added the in-app directory to its desktop site, opening up the resource to easier search through browser windows.

Photos, ratings, reviews, map views, and more are available for more than 10,000 courses and is accessible at udisc.com/courses. At the time of launch there is no connectivity with user profiles to save course information or leave reviews through the desktop version.

To commemorate the launch, UDisc also posted a feature on Allen Risley, who created the first course directory for the PDGA to its Release Point blog.

  5. 2020 Pro Worlds Officially Canceled

The PDGA today announced that all 2020 world championship events would be canceled due to international travel concerns, rescheduling issues, and diminished overall experience.

“After continued evaluation of both the local and global impacts of the novel coronavirus pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all PDGA World Championship events in 2020,” the statement said.

“All four events will run in the same host cities in 2021, with previously awarded 2021 World Championship bids moving back to 2022.”

  6. Cincinnati Reds Pitcher Amir Garrett Shows Off His Forehand

    Amir Garrett Disc Golf

Cincinnati Reds lefty Amir Garrett garnered a lot of attention when he put his disc golf dreams out on Twitter the other day, and today we got to see our first look at his game.

Garrett apparently picked up the sport during the offseason, and has offered to play some rounds with fans in the Las Vegas area. Don’t know if it was the discs that Eric McCabe sent him that made the difference, but we have to say Garrett’s sidearm is looking pretty good.

  8. Weekend Watch: May 29-31

We’re up to 50% of the United States eligible for sanctioning, and the slow trickle of tournaments commences.

Here’s a quick look around the PDGA schedule at notable players and tournament plans this weekend.

Prodigy Presents: The Rumble At The Ridge

Kevin Jones, Emerson Keith, Andrew Presnell, Gregg Barsby, Nikko Locastro, and Nathan Queen are all signed up for the B-tier in Greenbrier, Arkansas. The current FPO field is only three players deep, but with Rebecca Cox and Cynthia Ricciotti it’s still a tournament of note.

We got a preview of the Persimmon Ridge complex at last week’s Let’s Get Back to Golf event, a tourney Jones won, and we’re looking forward to even more talent taking on the links.

We should see video coverage from GK Pro.

  9. Music City Open NT Canceled

    Updated with PDGA comment.

Music City Open organizers announced on the Music City Podcast this week that the PDGA National Tour finale, scheduled for September 25-27 in Nashville, Tennessee, was being canceled for 2020.

Those registered for the NT were given the option to play in the A-tier on the same weekend, playing a championship-level layout at Cedar Hill Disc Golf Course in Madison, just outside of Nashville.

The PDGA said it is currently working on announcements regarding future tournament sanctioning and to expect news on the NT schedule next week. Currently, five of the six PDGA NTs for 2020 have been canceled or postponed.

MCO starts around the 35:00 mark.

  21. 1000-Foot Throw? Tristan Tanner Goes To Work

Tristan Tanner Throws More Than 1000 Feet

On a breezy day in Colorado, Tristan Tanner went out into a field and did something big.

According to Tanner and his UDisc stats, the up-and-comer was able to max out a driver at 1,019 feet, just 90 feet shy of David Wiggins Jr.’s seemingly untouchable world distance record. Tanner said he had a 25 mph tailwind and was using a Latitude 64 Gold Line Ballista Pro. Wiggins was out in the desert with consistent 40 mph winds and a lightweight Innova R-Pro Boss.

  26. 2020 European Open Canceled

The European Open today announced that the 2020 event has been canceled. The PDGA Major, originally scheduled for mid-July, was previously postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“We are no longer looking for a later date for the event in 2020, and will push our 10th European Open event to July 2021,” said Jussi Meresmaa, founder of the European Open, in the statement. “Arranging this magnitude event during these uncertain times became an impossible task for our staff. As much as we wanted this event to happen, we needed to prioritize everyone’s health and safety.”

  27. Who Is The Best Juggler On The Disc Golf Tour?

    @callie_mcmorran_64751♬ Wraith – Y2K Remix – Ro Ransom

Who is the best juggler on the disc golf tour? A week ago the clear answer would have been James Conrad, but after Callie McMorran posted the video above we are maybe rethinking it.

Can anyone else compete with James’s pure skill or Callie’s added dexterity?

We think we’ve seen Eagle McMahon and Simon Lizotte attempt to juggle on vlogs before. And maybe Nate Perkins mixing it up with James in the past.

Are we missing anyone? And do any skills from disc golf actually translate into becoming a good juggler?
