UDisc Live Drops Tap-In Putts From Stats
UDisc Live announced it will be adding a new statistic to its professional disc golf offering. Or rather, dropping some measurements to make an important stat more accurate.
The introduction of C1X Putting eliminates tap-ins from counting toward a player’s Circle 1 putting percentage. Going forward, putts from inside 3.3 meters (10 feet) will be excluded to “provide a clearer picture of putting skill.”

Discmania To Launch New Product Lines With Latitude 64 And Yikun
Discmania Latitude 64 Yikun Announcement
Discmania did not disappoint with its much-anticipated company news, as the Valentine’s Day announcement revealed new manufacturing partnerships with Latitude 64 and Yikun, as well as a continued relationship with Innova Champion Discs. This is the first such instance of a disc golf company working with multiple manufacturers to create branded discs.
The Swedish and Chinese manufacturers will mold new discs and plastics for Discmania under new product lines — Evolution and Active — while Innova will continue to mold existing discs and plastics under the Discmania Originals line.

Bevel Craft Brewing Announces Grand Opening
After months of teasers, Nate Doss and Valarie Jenkins announced the Bend, Oregon taproom of Bevel Craft Brewing will be holding its grand opening in April. The brewery released the date to its newsletter subscribers; you can sign-up on the brewery website.
Doss and Jenkins have stepped away from touring over the past year or so to focus on the physical brewery. They previously brewed collaboration beers around the country, often times releasing the brews to coincide with tournaments, such as Slight Headwind Saison with Radius Brewing Company of Emporia, Kansas during Glass Blown Open week.

European Open To Be Annual Major Through 2021
The European Open has made a major step in signing a 3-year deal with the PDGA to retain Major status through the 2021 season. The Nokia, Finland, event has traditionally only held the Major distinction every other year, with the last coming in 2017.
“This agreement is really important for European disc golf scene. The European Open has been the leading tournament in Europe since 2006. Now, we can bring the World’s best players to Finland every year,” says Jussi Meresmaa, founder of the event, in the announcement.

Leo Piironen Re-Ups With Discmania For Two Years
Leo Piironen wins the 2018 Finnish National Championship. Photo: Frisbeegolf SM Three-time Finnish Champion Leo Piironen won’t be on the market this offseason as he preemptively signed a 2-year extension with Discmania to keep him with the company through 2020.
“We wanted to do an extension before the previous contract would have expired so we came out with the new deal,” Piironen said in a statement. “This kind of action from a sponsor is really something else and it gains my respect.”

Nate Perkins With Discmania For Two More Years
Photo: Alyssa Van Lanen Discmania continues to sign team members to multiyear extensions as it has agreed to a 2-year deal with Nate Perkins.

Missy Gannon Promoted To Touring Team At Dynamic Discs
Missy Gannon at the Ledgestone Insurance Open. Photo: Alyssa Van Lanen Dynamic Discs will have another woman on tour this year as Missy Gannon was signed to a 1-year extension and promoted to the Touring Team.
“Just over a year and a half ago I was an amateur player and they took a chance on me then,” Gannon told Ultiworld Disc Golf. “Now, as a professional, they want me on their tour team. It wasn’t difficult to convince them of the importance of growing the FPO field on tour and how I would like to add my name to that list. They’ve really got my back.”

5-Year Innova Contract For Wysocki
While not all details about Ricky Wysocki’s new Innova deal may be known, we do now know he’s signed a 5-year contract to keep him with the manufacturer through 2023.
“The 5-year agreement means longevity,” Wysocki said. “It also helps set a precedent for long term contracts in the sport, which I feel could help more young players pursue disc golf as a profession.”
